Join us for the Fourth Annual Camden Classics Cup

Competition to be held Friday, July 24th, 2020

Time: 8:00 am to 5:30 PM (Racing from 11:00 – 3:00)

Location:  Camden Outer Harbor

Come watch the area’s best junior sailors compete on 420s and Optis in the third annual Camden Classics Cup Youth Regatta (CCCYR), Friday, July 24th.  CCCYR is organized for sailors aged 8-18. This special one-day race will be held just outside Camden Harbor. 48 racers aboard 24 boats participated last year.

This year’s regatta will be better than ever. North Sails is excited to support the Camden Classics Cup Youth Regatta. Two time J/24 World Champion and One Design Expert Will Welles will be on the race course with Kimo Worthington, six time America’s Cup sailor, to watch racing, provide coaching and offer post race analysis.

Including a youth sailing event with the CCC is a wonderful way to introduce young sailors to skippers meetings and ratings discussions that they normally wouldn’t experience.  It’s also a way for the entire midcoast area and the town of Camden to get more involved with sailing and boating activities.

There is no charge to participate in the CCCYR.  This regatta is sponsored by Jeff’s Marine of Thomaston and Lyman-Morse. The Bagel Cafe donates breakfast and French & Brawn provides lunch for the youth racers. Maine Boats, Homes & Harbors Magazine is the awards’ sponsor.

Youth racers will attend the CCC Skippers Meeting Friday morning before their own 420 Skippers Meeting. They will race 420 dinghies in Championship and Green Fleets in Camden Harbor, just west of the CCC race course.  Optimist Fleets will include Green and Championship, and will have separate race course.

Participating sailing programs have included Camden Area Youth Sailing Program (CAYSP), the Rockport Boat Club, the Apprenticeshop of Rockland, Harraseeket Yacht Club, Big Tree Boating of Islesboro, and the Castine Yacht Club.
